STRONGER EDUCATION. STRONGER FUTURES.
Learn a Skill. Build a Career. Create Opportunity. Strengthen Memphis.
EDUCATION → SKILLS → CAREERS → OPPORTUNITY → STRONGER MEMPHIS
Education should prepare people not only to graduate, but also to succeed in life and the workforce. As Mayor, I will use the leadership and partnerships available to the Mayor’s Office to help strengthen connections among education, workforce development, vocational training, employers, unions, and community organizations.
My vision is to help create more pathways that connect Memphis residents with the skills, certifications, apprenticeships, and career opportunities needed to compete for good-paying jobs.
Vocational Training
Expand pathways into skilled trades and technical careers that are in demand in our community.
Apprenticeships
Work with employers, unions, training providers, and educational institutions to connect residents with earn-and-learn opportunities.
Career Pathways
Create stronger connections between education, certifications, training, employment, and long-term career advancement.
Workforce Partnerships
Bring employers, educators, workforce organizations, and community partners together to better connect training with employment opportunities.
